This is a day to day blog of my journey through the insanity workout.
Day 1: Fitness Test
While it didn't feel like I got a 'workout' in, I can definitely tell my muscles were used in ways they have not been used in awhile. There are a lot of squats and jumps and it is kind of alarming to think about how many are yet to come! My initial numbers were ok...as the fit test went on, my legs got a little lethargic so I saw a decrease in numbers, but I'm excited to see follow up tests!
Day 2: Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Wow, I was tired after the warmup! It really got you moving and got the heart pumping...and then you had to go through it 2 more times! If you are not warmed up after this, you are doing something wrong! This was definitely a sweat-a-thon! It felt amazing! I'm doing these workouts downstairs in the morning so the jumping doesn't wake up my family and the walk up the stairs after I was done was not an easy one! It took a while to recover even though i had my protein shake and rehydrating drink.
Day 3: Cardio Power & Resistance
Muscles were a little sore this morning. The walk down the steps this morning reminded me that yesterday was not easy! Once we were into the warmup though, my muscles felt much better and I was ready for today's workout. I like the variation in high intensity and a little lower intensity (ie. squat jumps and v-push ups) But man, my pecs were worked today...LOTS OF PUSHUPS!! I was relieved when we got to the cooldown section!
So far, so good. After 3 days, I'm down 2 lbs. I'm sore through my lats and inner thighs the most and I just have to remember to keep drinking water! I'm curious to see how much easier this cardio recovery will be tomorrow! Will post again!
